My friend Laremi made these delicious Oh, Henry Bars for our Christmas Enrichment program. They are do die for. My friend Elicia said it best. When asked if she tried one of these bars her answer was, "you mean that Delicious bar that took me ten minutes to eat so I could savour ever bite." Now you have to try it. And you know what the best part is, it only takes about 15 minutes from start to finish. No baking. No joke. Just try it.
Oh Henry Bars: by Laremi
1 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
3 cups rice krispies
6 oz butterscotch chips (half a bag)
1 (11oz) bag milk chocolate chips
1)Bring sugar and corn syrup to a boil. As soon as it boils take it off the stove (do not let it cook longer than this. I did the first time and the bars ended up being peanut brittle)
2)Add the peanut butter mix well.
3)Add rice krispies. Mix well.
4) pour into a foil lined, greased 9 by 13 inch pan. Spread out.
5)Melt the butterscotch chips and milk chocolate chips in the microwave in intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Pour over Krispies. Spread out. Let cool, cut then eat.
Hint:
1)If you would like to eat it faster put it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes until chocolate is set then eat.
2)If you do cook the sugar to long and the bars are hard, just pop them in the microwave for 5 seconds and devour.
